Wang Yuzhang Delivered a Speech in the 16th “Future Star” Teachers’ Professional Training School

  At 18:30, October 10, the 16th “Future Star” Teachers’ Professional Training School commenced its 4th lesson in the lecture hall of Sixian Building in the Xingfuliu schoolyard of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal, was invited to deliver a speech named “Growth of Youth Teachers and the School’s Development”. The training activity was hosted by Li Guiling, Director of AHS Educational and Teaching Research Department. Present at the lesson were Dr. Ma Ji from Education School of Shandong Normal University and all members of the 16th AHS “Future Star” Teachers’ Professional Training School.
  Wang introduced to youth teachers the history and educational and reform achievements of AHS as a quality brand high school respectively from its educational mechanism, its characteristics and achievements. Centering on the new-era development goal of “undertaking better education and building up an outstanding high school with university characteristics”, Wang elaborated the 5 strategies with a considerable number of detailed data and fresh examples, that is, the high-quality strategy to pursue the best quality, the differentiation strategy to attain advantageous characteristics, the expansion strategy to form an expanding education group, the internationalization strategy to conduct open education and the strategy of informationalization to undertake intelligent education.
  When it came to the growth of youth teachers and the school’s future, Wang stressed that youth teachers are the vital new force in the school’s development and shared his own growth experiences in accordance with the theory of “six stages of teachers’ growth”. He hoped that youth teachers should uphold righteous educational values, have a good command of “the growth law” of a teacher’s teaching career, optimize the personal development design and strive to grow to be a qualified AHS teacher who can have his or her own independent thoughts, does well in learning from others, strictly obeys regulations and laws, and attain due accomplishments.
  At the end of the lesson, those new teachers shared their feelings, reflections and harvest since their admission into AHS. Wang gave full acknowledgement to their work and enthusiastically responded to their questions and puzzles. He also pledged more support to youth teachers’ growth.
  In her concluding speech, Li Guiling pointed out that Wang’s speech is of special significance, functioning not only as spiritual exchanges but also the teaching of educational philosophy. She hoped that all members make further reflections on Wang’s words and combine personal growth with the school’s development in view of fulfilling the expectations of all parts and achieve personal growth.
