On May 15, 2018, Jinan Institute for Education and Teaching Research held 2018 Jinan Teaching Brand Introduction Meet for Primary and Middle Schools in Yuxiu Primary School, Shizhong District. Over 300 educators attended the meet, including directors and researchers of institutes of education and teaching research of all administrative districts, leaders and teachers from some primary and middle school in Jinan, and those directors of schools’ Department of Teaching and Students’ Affairs and Department of Educational Research. The introduction meet began with the exhibit of the achievements made by Jinan Teaching Brands, followed by the introduction of the 2nd Jinan Educational Brands. On behalf of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS), Wang Bin, Director of AHS Department of Teaching and Students’ Affairs, and Li Guiling, Deputy Director of AHS Department of Educational Research, attended the meet.
Li Guiling addressed a theme speech titled “Construction and Practice of the Advanced Self-Learning Supporting System for High School Students”, introducing what AHS has done to improve its teaching quality and upgrade itself as an educational brand respectively in 4 aspects: social requirements and individual demands, problem focus and methodical improvement, concept interpretation and model construction, and practice innovation and efficiency reflection. Li’s speech, addressed on behalf of AHS, the only representative of Jinan high schools, was widely acknowledged by teachers and leaders present at the conference.
Lv Haoru, Dean of Jinan Institute for Education and Teaching Research, as was pointed out in his concluding remarks, highly praised what AHS has done on its course construction, teaching reform, individualized education and other aspects and recommended the educational units and departments to learn from AHS so as to make continual efforts to polish their respective educational brand and upgrade the teaching quality.
